The Ramsgate Society is a group with a special interest in Ramsgate and promoting local history and community events. We produced and updated web design for them to both engage the public, new and potential members, and existing members.
They approached us with a request for a web design which would be both engaging to the audience and easy for their team members to keep updated.
The Society had access to a number of great photographs to represent Ramsgate town which would take the lead on the web design.
In terms of content we knew that the Society would be making a number of news posts on different topics, which would need to be categorised and displayed within their relevant sections.
Using the WordPress CMS we created different sections on the home page to display the different categories, in order of their date, with additional options such as a static featured news block which would remain at the top of the list until the team wanted to change it. This provided a dynamic way of displaying news and updates to increase engagement with users rather than a static or chronological timeline of updates.
After finishing the design and training the team, including a system for adding and booking live events, the Ramsgate Society run the website independently.
