What file format is best for my…
Logo: SVG – This lightweight vector format is widely compatible with design software and is what we use on websites for great looking logos at any scale. Depending on the design, it also supports a transparent background. The importance of having a vector logo cannot be overstated.
Alternatively: PDF vectors, AI files with expanded text, EPS files. For raster-based: large PNG files with or without transparent backgrounds, large JPEG or TIFF files with solid backgrounds.
Bad formats: Word docs, bitmaps, small to medium sized JPEG or PNG files.
Photo: JPEG. As most photographs are taken on phones now, we do not have much control over the file formats. We may change the file format depending on how the image is to be used, but sending us a high resolution JPEG is the perfect starting point.
If you are taking a photo of a photo or a screen (this is not ideal!), try to keep the lighting even and avoid strong glare or reflections. Keep the subject flat to the camera.
Video: The best quality format that you have. If it is for web we will optimise it with our software.
