At Parkers we can produce books from around 20 pages to several hundred, with soft or hard covers. We offer book binding as perfect bound (books with glued spines, the most common form of book binding) as well as stapled for smaller books, or ring binding which can be great for recipe books or diaries where page turning can be more frequent.
We take the Word document into a design program to lay it out for printing as a book. With stylised chapter headings, character spacing, columns, margins and much more, there is a lot that goes into preparing text to become a book. Not to mention if there are images which can need editing and adding to a text layout. We can also help you create and layout an eye catching cover design.
After we’ve done this design work we can produce a printed proof for the author. This will be the first opportunity to hold the book in your hands and read it as intended, complete with a soft or hard cover. After taking some time to appreciate the books form, it can return to the editing phase or be approved for a full print run. It’s impossible to know how you will feel about your book before seeing it!
